There is something magical about a hillside blanketed in colorful wildflowers signaling the coming of spring.  New beginnings, renewal, rebirth, and the resilience of wildflowers inspire painters, poets, and musicians to create with this beauty in mind. The newest single from The Song Gardeners is a love song titled “Wildflower in My Heart” co-written by Corrie Dunn and Mary Gospe.

The song begins with Corrie on lead vocals and keyboard playing a lovely motif as she sings:

Through an enchanted garden gate, you wait
Taking my hand, we’re walking on this path of freedom
Dancing with the wildflowers swaying gently in the breeze
The places that we dream are seeds of possibility

Wildflowers never seem to be alone; they are surrounded by other wildflowers painting fields with their vibrant palette. And so it is with “Wildflower in My Heart” as the song blooms with Mary Gospe singing beautiful harmonies, James Butler adding his soulful bass and synths, and David Scheibner playing melodious guitars.

The sweet sentiment of the chorus describes the similarities of a wildflower to being in love:

You are a wildflower in my heart
A new beginning, a new start
You are a wildflower in my heart
Making love bloom.

Wildflowers live seasonally and, after displaying their beauty and producing seeds, will wilt, then return to nurturing the soil and resting until the cycle can begin again. Their beauty comes to life within us as we sing of love, hope, and connections in our song, “Wildflower in My Heart.”
